Nearly 25 bulk carriers, generally employed in the global tramp trade: grain, coal, iron ore, fertilizers and all types of steel cargoes. Total deadweight capacity over three million tons, individual vessel capacity from 40,000 to 180,000 dwt.

02 — Our History
Founded as a private limited partnership.
Closer to the major clients and to operate in Germany's shipping centre.
As both the international shipping market and Germany's economic miracle were beginning to get underway. For about a year, the ship held the status of Germany's largest merchant vessel.
From the 1950s to 1960s, the company acquires a number of 5,000 to 7,000 dwt newbuildings from German shipyards.
A different chapter of the trade. The fleet grows in tonnage class.
A long, slow tack into specialisation that still holds.
In recent years new vessels have also been ordered from Chinese shipyards. Since the company's founding, more than 200 seagoing vessels — mainly general cargo ships, container vessels and bulk carriers — have sailed under the Orion flag.
In 2025 Orion carried about 20 million tons of cargo, and our ships made around 1,000 port calls.
